A day in my life
Before I leave, I must kiss my wife goodbye. Her name is Hesta. We have 2 lovely children named Yakofus and Maizia. They are darling! We all live together in an insulae. It is very unhealthy because we have close contact with eachother and if fire starts, there is usually no way to stop it. Many people die because of this. It is very scarry but it is life for us. We make the best of it. I have taught Caesar since he was a little boy. His father and I are very close. I teach Caesar arithmetic and writing. His house is grand. I have to walk there each day and on the way, I see in the market place. Caesar is very smart and I have great expectations for him. He does not like to do arithmetic but I make him anyway. He thinks that arithmetic is a waste of time but I assure him that it will do him good in the future. On one of the field trips that I took him on was to a Gladiator fight. The fighters were Maximus and Johnathanus. We rooted for Maximus and he won! I dislike beating Ceasar when he is bad but it makes him learn quickly. Other than when I have to beat him, he is fond of me and I am fond of him. He is a bright young man. I was born in 125 BC and raised in Rome. Rome is a beautiful place! My children are 12 and 7 years old. Yakofus is 7 and enjoys helping around the house. He is just finishing his training and school with me and he will move on to army training. Maizia is 12 and is going to be marrying a young boy soon. His name is Brantus and he is 14. He has fought in the army for his share of years. He wishes to someday become a carpenter like his father.
